STACHYBOTRYS

Stachybotrys  chartarum is a black mold that grows on wet cellulose materials. This mold is both allergenic and toxic. It is considered a serious health hazard, and in children it has been associated with  lung tissue damage, memory loss, and even death.

Stachybotrys chartarum usually occurs after flooding of the house, however, the mold can be hidden in bathroom, kitchen, or basement  areas, in wet spots created by minor invisible leaks.
